{"id":14913,"date":"2025-02-16T13:53:56","date_gmt":"2025-02-16T12:53:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kecmnro.org.rs\/en\/?p=14913"},"modified":"2025-04-02T14:07:50","modified_gmt":"2025-04-02T12:07:50","slug":"our-milans-first-book-of-poetry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kecmnro.org.rs\/en\/2025\/02\/16\/our-milans-first-book-of-poetry\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Milan&#8217;s First Book of Poetry"},"content":{"rendered":"On February 14, 2025, KEC held a launch party for Milan Perisic&#8217;s\u00a0 <em>Paint Myself in Sunshine<\/em> at the Hyatt Hotel&#8217;s Ellington Bar.\u00a0 In conjunction with our partners, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/hyattregencybelgrade\/?hl=en\">Hyatt Hotel<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uznhajr.org\/\">HAJR<\/a>, KEC published Milan&#8217;s book of more than 80 poems about love, friendship, dreams and light. According to Milan, \u201ereplacing bad energy with good things like poetry gives [him] wings to face the future.\u201c \u00a0When he isn\u2019t working as a cleaning person through KEC\u2019s work engagement program, or spending time at the KEC center a lot of the time he can be found writing poetry on the notebook app on his phone.\r\n\r\nMilan&#8217;s friends from KEC read from his book and presented their own artistic depictions of his poems.\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-14937\" src=\"https:\/\/kecmnro.org.rs\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Milan-Hyatt-Politika-300x165.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"165\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kecmnro.org.rs\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Milan-Hyatt-Politika-300x165.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kecmnro.org.rs\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Milan-Hyatt-Politika-1024x564.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/kecmnro.org.rs\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Milan-Hyatt-Politika-768x423.jpg 768w, https:\/\/kecmnro.org.rs\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Milan-Hyatt-Politika-1536x846.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/kecmnro.org.rs\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Milan-Hyatt-Politika-2048x1128.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The amazing evening was topped off with a surprise appearance by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DGIcABrIA_3\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D&amp;img_index=1\"> Ivana Elektra.\u00a0<\/a> The pop star, a favorite among KEC beneficiaries, sang some of Milan&#8217;s poem and her own works while KEC participants and the audience danced with delight.
