Milan Perišić’s signature characteristics are his gentle tone and beaming smile. Seeing him it would be surprising to learn that he even encounters negative emotions. But like all of us he does, only he channels those negative feelings and experiences into optimistic poetry. According to Milan, „replacing bad energy with good things like poetry gives [him] wings to face the future.“ When he isn’t working as a cleaning person through KEC’s work engagement program, or spending time at the KEC center a lot of the time he can be found writing poetry on the notebook app on his phone.
A selection of Milan’s work was included in HAJR’s publication „Try and Walk in My Shoes.“ He participated in book promotions on behalf of the publication and his friends from KEC were there to cheer him on.
Congratulations to Milan and we can’t wait to read more of your work.
