On February 14, 2025, KEC held a launch party for Milan Perisic’s
Paint Myself in Sunshine at the Hyatt Hotel’s Ellington Bar. In conjunction with our partners, the
Hyatt Hotel and
HAJR, KEC published Milan’s book of more than 80 poems about love, friendship, dreams and light. According to Milan, „replacing bad energy with good things like poetry gives [him] wings to face the future.“ When he isn’t working as a cleaning person through KEC’s work engagement program, or spending time at the KEC center a lot of the time he can be found writing poetry on the notebook app on his phone.
Milan’s friends from KEC read from his book and presented their own artistic depictions of his poems.
The amazing evening was topped off with a surprise appearance by
Ivana Elektra. The pop star, a favorite among KEC beneficiaries, sang some of Milan’s poem and her own works while KEC participants and the audience danced with delight. After the presentation Milan signed copies of his book.
The whole evening was a real celebration of love and friendship. No better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than that.
